Auntie Aly...

My sister Alyson, was in town this past week to visit Anderson and help with childcare while I was at work. We had lots of fun together and Anderson loved hanging out with his Auntie Aly!! It was hard to say goodbye but we'll see her again in three weeks when Anderson and I visit Seattle. Can't wait!

Exploring...

Anderson has been really attending to everything that goes on around him and exploring different textures with his hands. It's crazy to almost be able to literally watch the wheels turn as he learns new things. It is truely amazing!!

He LOVES tickles and kisses on the cheek!!

Here he is grabbing Mommy and Daddy's faces!! Soooo precious!

He has also been noticing Bella (our chocolate lab) and Lola (0ur crazy cat) a ton. This morning as I was taking video to show how much stuff goes in his mouth he locked onto Lola...and watched her watching him!!

Everything Goes In The Mouth...

For the past few weeks Anderson has been putting everything in his mouth. Is he teething already???

Tummy Time

At our first pediatric appointment for Anderson (back in late February), our pediatrician recommended "tummy time". I hadn't read this in any of my 5 million books or maybe I just missed it...so I felt a little behind in the game. Our pediatrician said that because we now put our babies to sleep on their backs they are may not developing the arm strength they need to learn how to push up, roll over, and crawl without this tummy time. So...since then we've been praticing tummy time. Anderson doesn't like it much and his arms are not very strong but he sure does look cute...huh?!?!

Our security system...look out!!

Lola is the best cat!! Not only does she cuddle up on your lap and purr she also washes Brad's hair (she licks it obsessively every chance she gets), keeps the bug and fly population down in the house and scares off the bad guys (squirrels)!!

Back to work...

I ventured back to work at The Joshua School after 12 weeks of maternity leave. It's great being back at work and I know that while I love being a mother, I am eternally committed and passionate about this field and population. If some of you don't know I am the Early Intervention Director at a private school for children with autism specturm disorders. I feel so lucky to have found a way to balence family and motherhood with my professional life (so far). I work three days per week and have Friday - Monday with Anderson. It's great!!

While I'm at work Anderson has been staying at home with family members (until my summer break which starts in mid-June). For my first two weeks back, my Aunt Cathy flew into town. We had a lot of fun and she and Anderson had tons of fun while I was at work. We walked around Wash Park, did some shopping, and went out to eat at Little India (it was the first time Cathy tried indian...she loved it!).

Cathy and I also did this unbelievable workout at Red Rocks...it was killer!! This guy, who is in amazing shape, leads the work outs there three times per week FOR FREE!! He comes up with the most innovative and difficult exercises. Check out his website...Red Rock Fitness. I'm hoping to make it up there for a workout at least once per week (I think that's all my body can handle...it hurt to breath and sit for at least 4 days after the first workout). Maybe I'll see you up there...

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there.

Anderson has been talking up a storm!! Listen...

The wonders of new technology!!

Yesterday my older sister, Jennifer, got married!! Now I have an awesome new brother-in-law, Josh!! Josh is in the military and was scheduled to leave for Afghanistan in July. Before he left they wanted to be legally married and plan to have a big wedding when he gets back in the Fall of 2010. Brad and I weren't able to make it out to Washington for the civil ceremony but my mom took her laptop and we set up ours in the dining room. We were able to watch it all on Skype! It was a very nice ceremony!

Congratulations Jen and Josh!! We love you guys!

Time to plant the garden...

Brad and I have been planting a garden in our yard every summer now for the past 4 years. We love the fresh veggies. Our yard here in Colorado is great for a garden because of all the sun it gets. By August, we usually have tomotoes and squash coming out of our ears. This year we planted the usuals such as tomotoes, peppers, herbs, squash, bean, onions and cucumber - plus we are trying potatoes for the first time.

Anderson enjoyed the sun and new smells...especially this mint plant.

Stay tuned for the Talley family farmers market...coming your way this summer!!

Lots of visitors...

Since Anderson's birth on February 9, 2009 we've been happy to have had a ton of visitors.

Our first visitor was Grandma Shorty. She was here for Anderson's birth and stayed to help us for the first 6 weeks of Anderson's life. We are very thankful for the time we had with her!! Grandpa Mark also came out for a couple of days to meet his new grandson and help celebrate Brad's 30th birthday!!

Grandma Suanne was here the day after Anderson's birth and has already been back once (with Grandpa Mike) since then. Grandpa and Grandma made sure that Anderson was decked out in Huskies gear for March Madness and Mariners gear for spring training. Anderson is a true Pacific Northwest fan!!

Then, Anderson got to meet his cousin, Rylan!! Brad's brother and his wife, Uncle Bryon and Auntie Sara, made the long 16 hours road trip from Spokane to Denver to meet Anderson. It was great to have another new mom around to ask a ton of questions. Thanks Sara!!

Grandpa Tracy was next...he sure does now how to spoil his first grandbaby!! He's flying himself back out in June for two weeks to help with some childcare.

Our latest visitors were Auntie Jen and Uncle Josh. While they were here Anderson got to go on his first hike!! Jen and Josh also watched Anderson while Brad and I went to The Joshua School's fundraiser...thank you!!
